Experience

Sailing Expert > 20 yrs CWO I Two-man

Started out when I was 12, sailed in various small boats. Owned a Laser for about 8 years. Participated in some local competitions. Stopped sailing regularly at the age of 24 due to other interests. But until this day I sail if I get the chance.

Climbing         Advanced > 7 yrs Indoor Toprope

Indoor Lead

Outdoor Lead

I learned to belay when I was 17. Didn’t climb much after that. Since 2010 I’ve been climbing 2 times a week indoors. First year only indoors, after that I went outside regularly including courses to learn more. Can do multi-pitch. Been a route setter for about 5 years.

Hiking Expert > 22 yrs

First introduction with hiking was when I went camping with my family in Austria. From that moment on I was hooked. Since Holland is very flat and I prefer the mountains the real hiking is only done during vacation.

Kayaking Advanced 1 yr

For one season I participated in a kayaking club. My father bought a stable two seater kayak that we took out in summer. Only experience on flat water.

Swimming Expert > 25 yrs              A diploma

B diploma

Star diploma

Learned swimming from a very young age, which is common in Holland. First two diplomas are basic swimming skills. The star diploma is an introduction with various swimming sports like water polo, synchronized swimming and most important the basics of rescue swimming.

Camping Advanced > 20 yrs

Went camping for the first time with my family when I was about ten years old. After that first time we went to camp every year, always on official campings. The past 5 years I’ve done some camping in the wild too.

Cycling Expert > 30 yrs

In the Netherlands they put you on a bicycle pretty much as soon as you can walk. It’s the most common way of transportation in Holland. I’ve done some off road cycling too.

Skiing Intermediate > 5 yrs

Been on about five skiing vacations, first two of them I had classes to learn the basics. Mostly been in France. Blue pistes out there I manage fine. Red ones depends on the state of the piste. Black is to hard for me.
